This stunning red 1971 Chevelle SS hardtop was a Custom Concepts project built for owner Rob Fagundes. The beautiful A-Body build started as a clean California car that was completely stripped and treated to a full, frame-off rotisserie restoration. The chassis was also completely disassembled, then sandblasted and powder coated by Cap's Coatings in Fresno, CA. This car's picture perfect stance comes thanks to an array of parts including the front suspension that was upgraded with PMT upper and lower front control arms and sway bar, McGaughy's drop spindles with their C5 Corvette front brake conversion kit, close ratio steering gear, and McGaughy's coil springs. The rear suspension features PMT upper and lower trailing arms, sway bar kit and a McGaughy's C5 Corvette disc brake kit bolted to the 12-bolt, 3.73 Eaton posi-traction rearend. The rolling stock consists of 18x7 and 20x10 Eagle Alloys with Nitto tires. Power comes from a 454 cubic inch big block stuffed with a Comp Cams hydraulic Magnum series camshaft, topped off with an Edelbrock Performer RPM intake and carb with a GM HEI ignition. The front accessories are driven with a GM serpentine belt conversion kit. The exhaust system consists of Sanderson shorty headers coated by Caps along with Flowmaster mufflers. Rob Fagundes personally mixed and sprayed the striking red paint with classic white SS stripes. The new emblems and trim throughout the interior and exterior are from Original Parts Group. The interior was freshened up by Wall & Eads Upholstery in Fresno, CA., and stays cool courtesy of a Vintage Air system.
