Featured in the September 2007 issue of Street Rodder Magazine, this deuce roadster is owned by Mike Stallings the president of Wheel Vintiques; manufacturers of OE steel reproduction and billet aluminum wheels for hot rods, muscle cars, and trucks. This outstanding rendition of the classic `32 started with a steel body from Brookville sitting atop a Hot Rods & Custom Stuff dropped, pinched, and stretched chassis proudly sporting a drilled Super Bell I-Beam Axle, spindles, and perches with Pete & Jakes front hairpins, shackles, steering kit, and brakes from So-Cal Speedshop. The body received numerous modifications including a custom firewall, floors, transmission tunnel, and much more. The rear suspension consists of a Pete & Jakes 4-bar attached to a Winters Quick-Change rearend. Sitting between the rails is a Joe Bettencourt built Chrysler 392 Hemi complete with RetroTek 97 style fuel injectors and a Joe Hunt Magnetos HEI unit. The massive valve covers are from Hot Heads with Dan Olson breathers. The authoritative exhaust note is carried out through a custom set of Zoomie headers handcrafted by Kent Performance with Harley style baffles. Jim Skoglund at Air Tech Automotive in Fresno, CA handled all of the final assembly, plumbing, and wiring. Gabe Lopez stitched the beautiful leather interior. The crew at Custom Concepts was given the task of making the body dead straight before applying the gorgeous two-tone black and gold paint job followed by the ever-so-subtle pinstriping. This stunning deuce roadster has been featured in numerous shows and is a great show piece for Wheel Vintiques rolling on their custom `35 Ford centered wires with 16" fronts and 18" rears shod with Excelsior radials.
